FAQ

  • If you are a US citizen who lives in District 7, but will be studying abroad or travelling during the election, you can still vote! You must apply for a vote by mail ballot using either the online voter registration or the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). You can choose to receive your ballot by mail or email with the California Remote Accessible Vote by Mail program, available through your My Voter Profile 45 days before the election.

The FPCA is available through the Federal Voting Assistance Program, at U.S. embassies or consulates, or from military installation officers. You can return your completed FPCA by mail (postage is pre-paid via U.S., military, or diplomatic mail), fax, or email. Learn more or request a ballot here.

  • Yes! Everyone who lives in D7 is eligible to vote. There is no max number of people who can register at an address — if you live there, you can vote there!

  • It’s 100% legal to vote in the area you go to college in. We strongly encourage you to vote here! If you’re a student, you’re spending at least 75% of your time living, working, and commuting here. The Berkeley City Council makes important decisions that affect the cost of your apartment, whether your street’s sidewalks are repaired, and if cops can carry military-grade weapons around your neighborhood! Make a difference in the community you really live in. Additionally, turnout is often much lower in student-dominated districts, so voting in Berkeley will ensure that you make a BIG difference in this election!
